June 13 - Kink Burlesque, Demonstrations and Afterparty
OBEY is an intimate, carefully constructed immersive performance environment exploring power, control, and the fine lines between visibility and vulnerability.
Throughout the evening, guests will see—and, if they choose and are invited to, engage with—demonstrations of power exchange and assorted fetishes. Every interaction is intentional and choreographed; every boundary is honored. No assumptions are permitted; consent is mandatory!
This experience will include:
- Immersive burlesque performances with a fringe and darker intimate tone
- Live, consent-forward demonstrations exploring power dynamics
- Opportunities for guest participation within clearly defined boundaries
The afterparty invites you to linger, connect, dance, and play. You may remain an observer or step closer. The choice is always yours.
Be on time or you will be punished. No entry after show begins.
NOTE: This event is strictly BYOB –we will provide ice and coolers– to ensure the utmost safety of all of our guests.
Guidelines of the space:
- Explicit consent is required for all interactions
- Respect for performers and guests is non-negotiable
- Participation is always optional
- Discretion is expected
What is included in the ticket?
Heavily curated, intensely subversive, and titillating show. You must purchase a show ticket to attend the afterparty.
What do I bring?
Yourself, an open mind, and alcoholic/THC/non-alcoholic beverages of your choice. We will only be providing ice and cups. Bring cash for tips, though we will be making change on site.
Can I still expect aspects of a typical burlesque show?
YES. There will be thoughtful and talented performances that involve the art of the tease.
Can I bring thematic accoutrements for afterparty?
Yes, within reason. Please use conservative judgment and limit the amount. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
What should I wear?
At minimum, black. However, feel free to let your freak flag fly; this is a chance to wear your behind-closed-door gear out!
Where do I park?
There is street parking, a small lot in front of adjacent purple building or parking at Watefire Arts Center 1.5 blocks away.
